When looking for motel accommodation along the New England Highway, the Bushranger Motor Inn and Uralla are situated 20 kilometres south from Armidale and about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane on the New England Highway.

The property also includes the beautiful heritage listed Stokers Restaurant and Bar, circa 1864, with its log fires. Uralla is known for its connection with the bushranger Captain Thunderbolt and the town features his grave, Thunderbolt's Rock, where he hid to watch the stage coaches come up the hill, and his memorial statue, situated in the middle of town.
